1972   Wrote to Samuel Beckett to propose an opera based on his play Endgame

1972/3 Studied composition with Anthony Gilbert and Bill Hopkins, and had many conversations with my friend the
           composer Chris Bodman, who died in 2004. I've only mentioned the composers who allowed me to go my own
​           way, as I've always known what I want to do.
 

1975   Flight for solo flute and percussion ensemble

1975   three Tenebrae by Tomas Luis de Victoria transcribed for wind quintet

1976-77   Wrote
Chichikov, libretto and sketches for an opera based on Gogol’s novel Dead Souls

1977   J.S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue XXII, Book 1, The Well-Tempered Clavier transcribed for wind band

1978-80   Composed
Symphony in Three Movements

               Middle movement performed by Hatfield School orchestra (1979), and  
               the Camden School for Girls orchestra (1980)

1978   Transcription of J.S. Bach’s
Prelude and Fugue XXII performed at Ely Cathedral, and in Hertford

1979   Invited by Samuel Beckett to attend a rehearsal of his play
Happy Days at the Royal Court Theatre, London,
          with Billie Whitelaw as Winnie

          opera out of
Endgame

1980   Chichikov (libretto) performed as a play with masked actors, in a double bill with Alfred Jarry’s Ubu Roi,
          Cockpit Theatre, London

1984   Wrote
Haitian Summer, a book about my research trip to Haiti for the opera The Kingdom

1988   North Winds Quintet record transcription of Three Tenebrae by Victoria

1994   Regent Wind Quintet perform
Three Tenebrae transcription, Highbury Church, London
